We are delighted to invite artists to submit works for the 20-21 Centre Open Exhibition 2022, celebrating 20 years of great art by North Lincolnshire artists.

Both amateur and professional artists over the age of 16 living, or with a studio within the Humber and Lincolnshire region (DN, LN or HU postcode areas) are eligible to submit up to three artworks per person for the exhibition. Our independent judges will curate the exhibition from our submissions and select the prizewinners.

New £1000 grand prize!

A prize of £1000 plus, and an opportunity to exhibit at 20-21 will be on offer for the winner.

Runners-up will receive cash prizes sponsored by local businesses, including a cash prize for our visitors’ favourite in our Visitors’ Choice award sponsored by Bewley’s. There will also be a £200 prize to the best student entry sponsored by G.S. Kelsey Ltd.

You can print this form yourself or pick up a copy from gallery reception. If you have entered the Open previously you will be sent forms through the post shortly. Submissions will only be accepted if accompanied by a completed application form.

Please read all the entry requirements carefully, complete the relevent sections (you can either print the form out and complete by hand, or fill in the Microsot Word version prior to printing). Cut out the labels on the right hand side and attach securely to your artworks.

Submitting Work

Up to three artworks can be entered per person.

This year we are limiting the sizes so artists can submit up to 3 small/medium sized works. Or two small/medium sized works plus one larger work.

Up to three works can measure up to 1.2m in any direction.

One of the submitted works can measure up to 2.5 in any direction.

Artworks can include painting, printing, drawing, photography, textile, assemblage, mixed-media, and digital media (sound or video etc), sculpture, ceramics, and 3D works.

Work must be delivered to 20-21, with a completed entry form and payment, on Thurs 13, Fri 14 or Sat 15 January 2022 between 10am and 4pm.

Works in film or video should be supplied in DVD format, or by supplying a link to the work via an online video site such as Vimeo which allows an MP4 copy to be downloaded.

Who Can Apply?

Anyone 16 years of age or over resident at an address with a Doncaster (DN), Lincolnshire (LN) or Hull (HU) Postcode. Entrants to the Student Prize should tick the relevant box on the application form.


There will be an entry fee of £6.00 per artwork, £3 concessions (unemployed, students, pensioners. Proof required in all cases at time of entry). Acceptance to the final exhibition is not guaranteed and fees are not refundable.


-A maximum of three artworks may be entered per person.
-All works should be unpacked on delivery and the packaging taken away.
-Please remove all hangers and fittings from the back of artworks and mark ‘TOP’ on the rear of the work.
-‘Clip’ frames, metal or plastic frames are not permitted.


This year’s independent judges will be announced shortly.


Works are submitted at the owner’s own risk and 20-21 is not liable for damage caused during delivery, storage and selection. It is the responsibility of the artist to arrange insurance cover during these times if necessary. All selected work will be fully insured during the exhibition period.
