16 June to 29 September – Origami Open!

Origami artists, paper folders and enthusiasts, artists, designers, creative practitioners and anyone excited about creating artworks and objects from folded paper, have been invited to submit works for a new exhibition at 20-21 this summer.

Coinciding with our high-profile exhibitions by Grayson Perry and Jason Wilsher-Mills, we have filled the gallery with folded paper wonders – a celebration of Origami as an artform!

We have always tried to represent artforms that are not normally displayed in public galleries, and we hope this exhibition follows in the footsteps of successful exhibitions showcasing tattoo art, custom car and tiki art.

We wanted to have an exhibition that anyone could take part in, from professional designers and origami experts, to creative people young and old making their first objects using origami skills.

Sent by origami enthusiasts from across the UK and abroad the exhibition features a wide and colourful variety of subjects and techniques – from abstract and geometric sculptures, to animals, people and decorations.

A festival or Origami !

We are holding a special free ‘Festival or Origami’ event on Saturday 16 June from 10am to 4pm which will celebrate the opening of the exhibition, and include free workshops, activities and demonstrations. There will be an opportunity for any objects made on the day to become part of a special visitors section of the exhibition.
