7 June to 28 June 2025
Hundreds of school children from across North Lincolnshire have been creating Precious Plankton to celebrate World Ocean Day. Plankton are a crucial part of marine and freshwater ecosystems, forming the base of the food chain and playing a vital role in global biogeochemical cycles.
Pupils’ colourful Plankton inspired creations will be on show in our café showcase and windows from this Saturday 7 June until Saturday 28 June.
World Ocean Day is an international day that takes place annually on June 8. It’s a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of the ocean and the need to protect it. The day was officially recognized by the United Nations in 2008.
