'Open Call' Strong As Steel Scunthorpe's biggest queer art show.

Open Call

Strong as Steel will be an art exhibition taking place alongside the Scunthorpe Pride celebrations in August 2024, showcasing the work of contemporary artists who identify as queer.

Taking place at 20-21 and areas around the Pride event, Strong as Steel aims be a multifaceted, interdisciplinary temporary exhibition consisting of invited artists and artists selected from an open call for both emerging and established queer artists – allowing the queer community to showcase their artwork to a wider audience. Strong as Steel aims to increase the visibility of LGBTQIA+ artists, where the gallery acknowledges its power in legitimizing underrepresented groups in the art world, while providing valuable experience to artists in working with galleries and exhibitions.
